DO YOU DREAM OF ROBOTS?
Believe it or not, it’s not that uncommon. At least not at Misty Robotics. Our first robot arrives in 2018.
We eat, sleep, breathe, and build robots. Our vision is a world where personal robots -- useful, helpful, and friendly -- are in every home and office.
In order to bring our vision to life, we’re bringing together the best of the best in the field to Boulder, Colorado where we will dive into one of the most intensive and rewarding missions we’ve ever been a part of: Redefining the role of robots in society.
Head of Company
“I see personable robots solving all kinds of problems. Like eliminating nursing homes - so that my grandma never had to stay in one. I hated that.”
Tim was a founder and CEO of three previous successful startups. Solista which was sold to Gartner in 2001, Tendril Networks the leader in “personalized energy experiences to consumers”, and Revolv which was sold to Nest, a unit of Alphabet, in 2014. Tim started his career with almost a decade at Apple.
He is active in the community and serves as a mentor to Techstars and business plan competition teams. Tim was named Entrepreneur of the Year, alongside Tendril CEO Adrian Tuck, at the ESPRIT Entrepreneur 2011 Awards. Tim holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley.
Head of Product
“I want to give people more time to do the things they love by allowing our new robotic friends to help us throughout our days.”
Prior to Misty Robotics, Ian was the Co-Founder and CTO of Sphero. During his 7 years there he helped to design and ship millions of robots worldwide including Sphero, SPRK, Ollie, BB-8, and the Star Wars Force Band.
At heart Ian is a maker and a hacker. After getting introduced to robotics at the age of 12 he immediately knew he had found his life-long passion and spent most of his days as a home schooled student building robots in his bedroom. Ian pursued a degree in Electrical Engineering before later dropping out to learn about business which later led to the formation of Sphero. When he's not putting in long hours at the office Ian is probably out camping, snowboarding, rock climbing, or mountaineering.
